Van 25 tot en met 31 juli de heuse ATP Challenger met internationaal top tennis inclusief de hele Nederlandse top. Locatie: Mets tennisbanen - The Hague.

Op 28 juli zal de XLR Groove Foundation acte de presence geven met een optreden van DJ XLR & Friends met live Percussion (Serigne Gueye uit Senegal) en live Bass (Arvind Durgaram van onder meer Rayn & The Flavours of Soul) en DJ XLR. Op 28 juli gaat om circa 15:00 uur de muziek aan en doorgaans al grotere drukte met om 18:00 uur 'Match of the Day' en medio 20:00 uur XLR's Groove Foundation live op het Mets Plaza Square...

ATP Challenger - The Hague Open 2016:

Formerly known as the Siemens Open and Sport1 Open, the tournament has been held annually on the outdoor red clay courts at Mets since 1993.

The ATP Challenger Tour is a series of international men's professional tournaments and are the second highest level of competition, below the very top tier, the ATP World Tour. The competition at this level is intense, with young up and coming players slogging it out for ATP Ranking points that will qualify them to compete at the top of their profession.

The Challenger Tour is the launchpad to fame for the future stars of professional tennis. Gaël Monfils, Richard Gasquet, Fernando Gonzalez and Marcelo Rios made their Dutch debut on the Mets Tenniscourts. Marat Safin, Nicolay Davydenko, David Nalbandian and Fernando Verdasco also started as young professionals at the Siemens Open. Also two current top 20 players Jerzy Janowicz (2012) and David Goffin (2014) have won the tournament.

The Hague Open offers tennis fans the opportunity to experience first class tennis up close. The Mets is minutes from Scheveningen beach and the complex has a centre court that seats over 3,000 spectators.
